Fly to Whitehorse and pick up your vehicle to explore the southeastern corner of the Yukon. Travel the south Alaska highway to Watson Lake via Teslin, where the Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre and George Johnston Museum interpret the history of this area and perhaps see some of the migrating birds in the Nisutlin river delta, especially in the fall. Spend two nights in Watson Lake and be sure to visit the Northern Lights Space and Science Centre, the famous Alaska Highway Sign Post Forest and possibly take a trip to the nearby Liard Hot Springs. Stop at the Visitor Reception Centre in the Sign Post Forest and find about all the other exciting things to do in the area.

Teslin Bridge, Alaska Highway

Then head up the "ROAD LESS TRAVELLED", the Campbell Highway, a more remote experience with wildlife viewing opportunities. Take time to stop at Frances Lake, location of one of Robert Campbell's Hudson Bay Forts which pre-dated the "98 Gold Rush; and a quick visit to Ross River where the Canol Road and Pipeline from World War II cross the Pelly River. Follow the Pelly valley and Tintina Trench into Faro where you
will spend the next two nights. Explore this vibrant little town with an active artistic community and lots of hiking and viewing sites. Pick up a set of golf clubs at the Visitor Information Centre and play a round of golf right in the middle of town.

Little Salmon Lake from the Campbell Highway

Leave Faro, following the Campbell Highway west past Little Salmon Lake and then enjoy spectacular views of the Yukon River valley as you approach Carmacks. You turn south here on the Klondike Highway to Whitehorse where you will have time to enjoy its shops and good dining.
