Fly
to Whitehorse and pick up your rental vehicle for a week. Spend
some time in Whitehorse or
take off to Dawson City - home of the Gold Rush of 1898. Stay 2
nights at the Westmark Dawson City and take some time to see this
living
museum before heading off for a trip on the famous Dempster Highway
- the only public road in Canada that crosses the Arctic Circle.
Take
time to enjoy the incredible vistas before overnighting at Eagle
Plains
Lodge.
The
next morning
you
will cross
the Arctic
Circle and
cross over into the Northwest Territories through the Richardson
Mountains. Cross the Peel and MacKenzie Rivers by ferry
(free) before arriving in Inuvik where you will spend 2 nights
at the
Eskimo Inn.
Take time to visit some of the local sights, shop for crafts
and perhaps take a flight over the awesome MacKenzie River Delta.
Fly
back to Whitehorse on Air North - Yukon's Airline - and see some
of the spectacular territory you have driven through, from the
air. Stay at the Westmark Whitehorse and explore Yukon's capital
city
with its history and shopping before returning home.
