DOG SLEDDING ADVENTURE IN THE WILD HEART OF THE YUKON – from $1851.50 CDN - Dates Jan.15-Mar.15, 2008
Imagine yourself traveling in the wild and pristine Anvil Range in central Yukon behind your own team of 7 to 8 well trained Alaskan Huskies! This six day package takes you to Faro, “Yukon’s Best Kept Secret”, home of the unique Fannin sheep who winter on the slopes near the town. The area is also the wintering ground for the Finlayson Caribou herd, abundant moose and several wolf packs. It is also the best area in the Yukon for watching the mystical Aurora Borealis.

After driving the spectacular 375 KM road from Whitehorse to Faro you will have time to relax and enjoy the Faro Studio Hotel and its lounge; where time runs backward. The next day you will go to Lynx Paw Farm and Kennel, a few KM from the town center, where you will meet the dogs and learn to drive your sled on the beautiful trails around the farm. After another night in your comfortable bed at the hotel, and possible sighting of the aurora; your true adventure begins – mushing your own team through silent forests, along winding creeks and on frozen lakes.

Take another day to return to Whitehorse, enjoying the incredible scenery along the way. Your final night will be in Whitehorse before you return home with memories of an amazing wilderness experience.
